DARJA KOEHLER

Darja was born and raised in Slovenia and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Piano Performance from the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and Belgrade, Serbia.

She has been teaching music for over thirty years with a particular passion for introducing children to the beauty and magic of the piano.

The birth of her daughter motivated her to search for a teaching method that would allow her daughter to learn an instrument in the most natural way. Discovering the Suzuki Method provided Darja with her answer. She then studied the Suzuki Method at Holly Names University (HNU)  in Oakland, California with Mrs. Caroline Fraser and at the Colorado Suzuki Institute.


Darja is certified in all seven levels Suzuki Piano Books.

Every summer, Darja helps with the master classes scheduling for the Summer Suzuki Institute at HNU in Oakland, California.

Darja is an active member of the following associations :

Suzuki Association of the Americas

Suzuki Association of the California - Bay Area Piano Branch

Performing Arts Society
